El Cajon, CA

El Cajon (pronounced /ɛlkəˈhoʊn/; Spanish IPA: [elkaˈxon]) is a city in San Diego County, California, United States. The population was 94,869 at the 2000 census. El Cajón is Spanish for "The Drawer", relating to it being a parcel of land granted out of the vast Mission San Diego de Alcala tract and used for farming by Spanish missionaries.According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 37.7 km² (14.6 mi²), all land.
