Indio, CA

Indio is a city in Riverside County, California, located in the Coachella Valley of Southern California's desert region. It lies 26 miles east of Palm Springs, 70 miles east of Riverside, 83 miles east of San Bernardino, and 125 miles east of Los Angeles. The word indio is Spanish for Indian. When nearby golf resort cities in Palm Springs were finished, Indio, the neighboring towns of Coachella and La Quinta, became popular destinations for new movers relocating to the area, and year-round residents sought a moderately-priced home.
