Madera is a city in Madera County, California and has approximately 50,000 inhabitants as of 2008. Madera has two school disctricts: Madera Unified School District and Golden Valley School District. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 12.3 square miles (31.8 km²), all of it land.
